I just read this book for the second time and decided to review it in hopes the author reads his reviews. Loved the premise. Loved the way it carried through the story. I read the novel through in two sittings and enjoyed every drop. Well, except for the overly lengthy descriptions of weather and nature, which I skimmed lightly or skipped altogether in order to zoom on to the fascination of the story itself. MInd you, the nature parts were well written, at least those I actually read early on. But enough was enough and they interfered with my eagerness to find out what happens next. I recommend this story, and also request and even implore that the author write a sequel. The startlingly abrupt ending left me hanging and wanting more, so hope the author is plugging away at the more. Smiles and encouragement from me to him.Product details

The book has a unique ability to engage you in a unique plot. A must read with a cliffhanger surprise at the end. Cannot wait for the next book!
The story is written in primarily in 1st person journal style. While well written this style tends to include a lot of verbiage about emotions, scenery, personal likes and dislikes of the main character which I thought could have been reduced a lot. Since the main weapon is mental, a lot of the action does not have the punch of many Spec Ops stories but the action does fit with the plot. Action scenes are often short and to the point of whacking bad guys fast as thought. The abrupt ending I found a bit jarring too. This is a pretty good sci-fi type of action story if that is your taste.
The Attunement takes you on an unexpected adventure, making you wonder what will happen next or how each situation can possibly work itself out. It's a real page turner that you won't want to put down. I am also a fan of the great Sidney Sheldon and would rate this book right up there with any of his best.
I really enjoyed Gary B. Haley's style of writing. He knows how to paint a mental picture. I also like it when there's almost a "virtual reality" type experience to a story, which he has done, making the story penetrate into reality. I've read other stories and seen movies where this was the case and it definitely makes it more interesting.
This book is amazing! It is full of intrigue, suspense, and a little romance, too, which I love! It was hard to put the book down after reading the introduction...I just wanted to know more. There is also a great deal of action in the book, which I was not expecting, but thoroughly enjoyed. I read the author's last book, The Scrapbook Lecture, and I was very impressed by how he was able to interweave the two books together so well! It was pretty brilliant, actually. The story builds from beginning to end, and the ending is a real cliffhanger...I cannot wait to read more! This was truly a GREAT read!!!
What a clever author...such an interesting way to save the world. I loved the two main characters and their adventures. When the book ended, I wanted it to go on... to turn into a romance novel or to
see them save the world just a little more. But with the way it ended, it allows your mind to continue the story for days. I am indeed looking forward to read more from this author.
A unique tale of what might happen if we could really harness those thoughts we have when we see or experience real injustice or just get our knickers in a knot over getting emotionally hurt. Gary B. Haley weaves a very entertaining story peopled by well developed characters and he keeps a few surprises up his sleeve. I don't know if he plans a sequel, but the door is left open. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Good job Mr. Haley!
